Having watched on as his side surrendered an early lead to eventually lose out against Tottenham at the White Hart Lane, Arsene Wenger has charged his players to rally round and bounce back in their next Premier League game. Earlier on in the London derby, Mesuit Ozil had handed Wenger’s men the lead before Harry Kane levelled up and eventually powered an awesome header past Ospina who was in between the sticks for Arsenal.
On Tuesday, the Gunners will attempt to set the records straight when they face Leicester City – a team barely gasping for breath at the Emirate stadium. With the recent form of Leicester City and also the fact that Alexis Sanchez is now available for the Gunners, Arsenal are expected brighten the mood of their fans with a performance similar to the overwhelming defeat that they secured against Aston Villa last week.
While fielding questions from reporters, Wenger explained that last weekend’s loss wasn’t the first in the history of the Gunners but the important thing is for them to bounce back immediately. He believes that all things being equal, his side will respond in a menacing manner when they file out against Leicester City on Tuesday. The French tactician admitted that his side lost too many balls in different situations especially times when they could have harmed the Spurs but unfortunately the Gunners were too mild to take advantage of those opportunities.
A top four spot is what interests Wenger and to achieve that, he must ensure that his team sends a clear signal to all the other contenders especially the new comers into the race of European spots, Southampton and Tottenham. Apart from this two, Arsenal have to pile more pressure on Manchester United who may appear frail but are still serious contenders for a Champions League spot next season.
