Bayern Munich forward, Arjen Robben seems to feel that his manager, Pep Guardiola is the best there is in the football world. In fact the Dutch international stated that the Allianz Arena boss lives and breathes football in a way no other manager does.
Under Pep, Robben enjoyed a new lease of life and in some sort of ripple effect, the forward was awesome for both club and country. It was a real shame that despite his performances for Bayern and even the Netherlands at the recently concluded World Cup, he could not even make the shortlist for the final three contestants for the recently announced FIFA Ballon d’Or.
In the first Season that Guardiola switched to the German outfit from Barcelona, he actually hit the ground running with an impressive haul of four trophies and Robben remains adamant that no other soccer tactician knows his onions the same way the former Barca boss does. In a brief chat with Telefoot, the forward revealed that Pep is tactically the best in the football world. He sees the opportunity to work with the Spaniard as a privilege and still hopes albeit at 31-years-old, to learn few more things from the highly successful gaffer.
While discussing the German club’s desire to win another Champions League trophy for a second time in three years, Robben revealed that his attacking prowess remains an illusion to the opposition defenders, he also noted that the main motivating factor is the fact that the final of this year’s edition will be held on German soil and what other joy could be greater than winning the highly coveted trophy in front of their local fans?
When asked about his secret, the Dutch star blurted that it was all about timing and always trying to do something different. He however believes that the club will also be at an advantage as the players are now more accustomed to each other and blending will not be an issue this time around.
