Dani Alves may decide to commit to a contract extension with Barcelona according to his agent, Dinorah Santa Ana. She admitted that although no offers have been made at the moment, the final decision lies with the Brazilian. Ana had previously stated that Alves has all that he holds dear at the Catalans and will not consider a switch any time soon.
His current deal at the club ties him down till May this year but with interests from Manchester United and Arsenal, observers suggested that Alves might consider a new lease of life elsewhere. Despite all his options, his agent maintained that her client might still consider extending his stay under Luis Enrique seeing as he has made 20 appearances for the club so far this season. While speaking with Sport, Ana insisted that her client is yet to make a decision about his nearest future but that he is open to either staying back or switching to other clubs.
She reinstated that the fact that the Catalan giants cannot sign any players until January next year will not influence his decision especially as many pundits have opined that the club might be reluctant to letting the veteran full-back leave seeing as the option of getting replacements is no longer available. However, Ana revealed that if Dani gets offers from even more than three clubs, they will both ponder on the deals and decide which is best for the Brazilian.
Ana believes that despite the fact that her client failed to make the FIFA World XI this year, he remains the best full-back in the world and he would like to be in a club where he will be comfortable. She was also quick to stress that Dani has no axe to grind with the Barcelona management but that at the moment, he is yet to receive a contract renewal offer.
